A shelter and rehabilitation center for women affected by violence has officially opened in Pokhara-33, Pushpabasti. Established through the collaboration of the Gandaki Province Government and Pokhara Metropolitan City, this center is a vital step toward protecting the dignity and rights of vulnerable women.
Right4Children is proud to have played a key role in coordinating with other NGOs, INGOs, and government bodies to bring this vision to life. The center provides a safe space where women facing domestic violence, neglect, or abuse can access shelter, psychosocial support, and skills training. With provisions to house survivors for six months to two years, the center aims to help them rebuild their lives and regain independence.

Chief Minister Surendraraj Pandey, who inaugurated the center, emphasized its role in promoting social justice and human dignity. Other key stakeholders echoed the importance of such spaces in fostering recovery and reintegration.
While the center’s launch marks a major achievement, challenges remain. Sustainable funding, adequate staffing, mental health support, and overcoming social stigma are critical for smooth operation. Continued coordination among partners and strong aftercare programs will also be essential for long-term success.
At Right4Children, we remain committed to supporting the center’s mission. We believe that every woman deserves a life free from violence, with opportunities for healing, growth, and self-reliance. This shelter is not just a building—it’s a beacon of hope.
Together, we can ensure that it delivers on its promise.
