Right4Children, in its ongoing efforts to equip educators with essential skills for student development, successfully organized a three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on Career Guidance from 29th to 31st May 2025 at Hotel Village, Pokhara. The training brought together 26 enthusiastic school teachers—19 male and 7 female—from various schools to strengthen their capacity to guide students in making informed decisions about their future.
The sessions were expertly facilitated by Ms. Sunila Dhungel, a certified Master Trainer of Trainers from the Bagmati Province Education Training Center. The main objective of the training was to build participants’ foundational understanding of career guidance, focusing on key concepts such as interests, strengths, values, aptitude, and career beliefs. It also aimed to familiarize teachers with the broader context of Nepal’s education system and evolving labor market.
Designed to be practical and engaging, the training featured a mix of interactive methods, including presentations, group discussions, roleplays, simulations, peer demonstrations, and hands-on exercises using worksheets. A highlight of the training was the introduction of a digital tool available through the Bagmati Province website, which helped participants explore their own strengths and reflect on how similar tools can benefit students.
Throughout the three days, teachers actively engaged in activities and shared their personal experiences and insights. Many expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to learn new strategies and practical tools that they could immediately apply in their schools. The training not only enhanced their knowledge but also boosted their confidence in facilitating career guidance sessions tailored to the diverse needs of their students.
As Nepal's education system continues to evolve, initiatives like this training are vital in bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world career planning. Right4Children remains committed to supporting educators in creating student-friendly environments that promote informed choices and brighter futures for all children.
