Right4Children, in collaboration with the Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward Committee, local health institutions, and community groups, organized a successful reproductive health camp in Birauta, Pokhara-17.
The camp focused on empowering economically disadvantaged women and girls by promoting preventive care, facilitating early detection of health issues, and raising awareness about personal hygiene and reproductive health.
The camp was inaugurated by Ward Chairperson Akal Bahadur Karki, who emphasized the significance of women’s health and urged a substantial increase in the health budget. He expressed gratitude to Right4Children and all its partners, including the Health Division of Pokhara, the Urban Health Post, and local community organizations, for their invaluable support in organizing the camp.
Healthcare workers from Gandaki Medical College and the Health Division of Pokhara offered vital services, including physical examinations, reproductive health screenings, and counseling.
A total of 124 participants underwent tests like Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) and checked for conditions such as cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and menopause-related complications.
Key findings highlighted widespread issues such as white discharge (31 cases) and cervicitis (37 cases), emphasizing the need for ongoing awareness and education regarding reproductive health.
The camp provided essential care to underserved women, promoting healthier lifestyles and better personal hygiene while enhancing community collaboration in health advocacy.
